MRT Kick Starts UTV Trail Season with Windrock Park Spring Shindig

MRT Kick Starts UTV Trail Season with Windrock Park Spring Shindig

For a great deal of folks in east Tennessee, the arrival of spring brings lots of excitement. While the grass begins to green, flowers bloom and warmer weather sets in, the outdoor activities and festivities begin. For many UTV and off-road enthusiasts like us, spring is the kick start to the sxs riding season, and boy, is the season upon us. We took a trip to Tennessee to visit Windrock Park for their annual Spring Shindig.

Located in Oliver Springs, TN, right on Windrock Mountain, Windrock Park is an enormous 73,000 acre private property boasting over 300 miles of offroad trail riding. From tent and RV camping options to a ton of amenities, the park has all you need for an ideal stay. They even have a general store where you can get everything from your trail pass and food to eat, to apparel and outdoor gear.

From gravel roads for easy cruzin' to extreme hillsides for rock crawling, the mountainous terrain offers a variety of adventure for all skill level riders. The vast trail system accommodates just about everyone from ATVs, side by sides and Jeeps to mountain biking and dirt bikes. Quite impressive, the trails are well marked and very well maintained.  Plus, the park is full of majestic mountain views, abundant wildlife and holds a ton of historical and unique destination points find and explore.

Each year the Windrock Park Spring Shindig brings in thousands of off road enthusiasts; this year was no different. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, including live music each evening, great food vendors, guided trail rides and family fun games! How about Chase Rice as the headliner artist? It was a great show!

When the MRT Team wasn't out exploring the trails, you could find us down on Vendor Row. Packed in with other aftermarket parts and accessories companies, MRT had a prime spot! On display, we showcased our variety of UTV wheels and tires for attendees to check out. We had a great time talking tires and tech stuff with fellow trail riders, enjoyed visits from old friends and met a lot of wonderful people!

 Let's Hit the Trails!

For this ride we equipped our Polaris Ranger with a set of 35" MRT Rocky RX UTV tires on Muscle Race Wheels Tail Gunner UTV wheels.

We chose the Rocky RX Tire for its ability to grip and get traction on a wide variety of terrain, especially when it gets really rough and rocky. Although it's known as one of the best rock crawling tires on the market, it also cleans out really well which is great for muddy, mucky trail riding. With the spring showers we were getting, a muddy mess it was. The Rocky RX Tire performed great, it took us to the top of the mountain and back, and through some gnarly stuff, like it was nothing!

We didn't choose our stylish Tail Gunner UTV Wheel just because it looks good, we knew we'd be hitting some tough obstacles on this ride. The rocky terrain can put a beating on your machine, fortunately, the Tail Gunner Wheel has an ultra-durable construction and was designed to withstand super, tough conditions. Plus, having the security of a  Beadlock Wheel is reassuring on those long-distance trail rides. Worth having!

All in all, the Windrock Park Spring Shindig gets two thumbs up! There's nothing like the beauty of the Tennessee mountains. Exploring the trail system and soaking in those scenic mountain views was amazing, we highly recommend it. The Spring Shindig was a blast too, we had a great time with friends, making new friends, and enjoyed the music and activities. We recommend putting the Windrock Park Spring Shindig on your list of to-dos.
